Project:
Comfort Inn
Mt. Pleasant, Michigan
Client Objectives
Due to it’s proximity to Central Michigan University the owner’s wanted the property updated to provide convenience and personal comfort to business professionals as well as students and their families. Durability and functionality were the main requirements in addition to a design that would appeal to the various user groups.
Design Program
The conference Center design features new custom designed patterned carpet incorporating the new color scheme. Dramatic accent walls add focal points to the prefunction area as well as the meeting rooms. New wall sconces and drapery were installed to compliment the design scheme. New banquet chairs were also added for comfort and durability.
Since space is a premium the guestrooms were outfitted with a custom armoire made by American of Martinsville. The piece, although custom, matched the rest of the new furnishings from American of Martinsville. The armoire incorporates the television, microwave, and refrigerator. Fun accent pieces include a decorative mirror above the desk and unique table lamps. The new bedding and accent lounge chairs were designed to tie in all of the colors in the room and create a playful rhythm with the unique patterns and textures. Valences were added to the windows to complete the design. The carpet was replaced with commercial grade carpet for durability over time. The bathroom upgrades included granite countertops.
Lobby furnishings included boutique accent tables combined with durable finishes. The groupings of lounge furniture make a great place for informal meetings or cozy places to wait for a friend.
Specifications
The remodel was completed Spring 2005.
