Life EMS Ambulance
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Life EMS asked for our design expertise to develop a next-generation ambulance concept which was unveiled at the American Ambulance Association's 2012 Convention in Las Vegas. The goal was to create a more soothing and relaxing environment for the patient and family, combining functionality with elements to help reduce stress.
The design plan for the new emergency transport vehicles included a nature-inspired color scheme of lavender, blue and burgundy. Original artwork by Kalamazoo artist Conrad Kaufman provides a positive focal point for patients. "Studies show that art, particularly that depicting nature, has a positive influence on patient outcomes," stated Sondra Phillips. The new design is a departure from the industry standard sterile-looking interior with plain colored walls. Read more about this project here.
