As SKP Design added new team members in 2016 and 2017, we outgrew our office space. With creative planning and cooperation from the building’s owner, we redesigned and repurposed space on the opposite side of the building.
Providing a teaming area for designers was a priority, as well as direct access to the resource library. The former conference room was opened up to a file room and storage space to become the designers’ studio – three work stations, a concepting area and a hospitality/meeting space. The counter height work station leads to the library which is brightened by hexagonal carpet tiles. Additional space is dedicated to laminate and quartz samples. An adjacent office is shared by the owner and marketing coordinator and provides a more private space for meetings. A window added to a solid wood door extends sightlines and provides a perfect spot for the company logo.
