Founded in 2006, First National Bank of Michigan is a locally owned community bank in West Michigan. The corporate headquarters and branch bank are located in downtown Kalamazoo. The target clientele includes progressive entrepreneurs and local business.
SKP Design was given the opportunity to create the flagship image for the bank. The original concept included this statement: ‘First National Bank of Michigan; An old name with a fresh approach to banking’. The overall design represents a union between tradition and innovation. Technology is integrated throughout the bank providing ease of use for staff and clients. Flexible meeting spaces in the lobby include a coffee bar and lounge seating areas. A combination of warm wood tones and industrial metallic finishes create a unique environment.
When First National Bank expanded to the Holland market, they found a temporary loft space that needed to be transformed to an office environment. Limited square footage required that spaces be multi-functional. The informal hospitality area provides space for greeting customers and impromptu meetings. A Co-op Meeting Space from Arcadia provides acoustical relief from the open office and allows for semi-private conversations. Demountable walls from Nxtwall with Lumicor glass panels create a conference area and four private offices. Blue, grey and wood tones are consistent with the corporate brand. Upholstery fabrics and Shaw carpet tiles carry the color palette throughout the office. Click to view the Time-Lapse Installation Video from NxtWall.
When the Woodbridge branch in Portage was completed in 2008, it was featured in a television commercial. Sondra and her kids make a guest appearance! Click to view the 30 second spot.
