Providing services throughout Southwest Michigan, Life EMS offers emergency medical care and transportation as well as training courses. For their corporate offices, they wanted a modern, comfortable environment that also reflects readiness and preparedness.

The lobby features a custom designed curved reception desk and Stikwood focal walls. Corporate colors and high tech elements are visible throughout the space. Demountable walls from Trendway create multiple conference areas with a variety of technology levels. The large conference room showcases a Luminesse LED conference table from Enwork with coordinating light fixture from Nemo. Furniture from Steelcase, lounge seating from Coalesse and Masland carpet tile in Lava and Flying Embers patterns complete the space.

Life EMS asked for our design expertise to develop a next-generation ambulance concept which was unveiled at the American Ambulance Association's 2012 Convention in Las Vegas. The goal was to create a more soothing and relaxing environment for the patient and family, combining functionality with elements to help reduce stress. The design plan for the new emergency transport vehicles included a nature-inspired color scheme of lavender, blue and burgundy. Original artwork by Kalamazoo artist Conrad Kaufman provides a positive focal point for patients. "Studies show that art, particularly that depicting nature, has a positive influence on patient outcomes," stated Sondra Phillips. The new design is a departure from the industry standard sterile-looking interior with plain colored walls. Read more about this project here.
